African American Community Service Agency to Announce Winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Good Neighbor Awards

San Jose - On Thursday, January 11, 2001 the African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) will announce this years winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Good Neighbor Awards."

The announcement will take at the AACSA, 304 N. 6th Street, San Jose, CA at 11:30am.

Elbert Reed, president of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley, will present the winners. 

This year's awardees include individuals from Gilroy, where a Chapter of the Dr. MLK, Jr. organization was inaugurated in the year 2000.  The Gilroy group will join individuals from San Jose and surrounding communities at the Good Neighbor Awards Breakfast at 7 am on Monday, January 15, 2001 at the Wyndham Hotel located at 1350 First Street in San Jose.

Rugene Parker - San Jose
Dr. Frank Azad - Gilroy
Margaret Perry - San Jose
Anjali Dujari -Sunnyvale
Ken Pruitt -San Jose

Special awards go to Cindy Chavez, City Councilwoman and Robert Knowling,  Businessman.  The breakfast will be followed by the 16th annual Freedom Train to San Francisco.
